Working Together

Meet Carrie

I'm Carrie, the driving force behind Careers with Carrie. You can call me a career coach, a resume writer, a branding expert or any number of trending labels that don't speak my no-BS applies language. My style is a combo of life and work mentor with a side of non-judgemental, cheerleading best friend. During my tenure in Human Resources,  I often referred to my job as a problem solver for people which still sums up my day-to-day.

As a psychology undergrad, I was often found in the library, researching through stacks of journals to figure out what makes people tick. I was not that interested in pathology but instead wanted to figure out how to marry people with their passions to motivate them to live more purposeful, fulfilling lives. (If I'm being honest, I was looking for the same thing for myself.)

This was the late 90s, before Martin Siegelman's vision of positive psychology really took off, so the psychology of motivation was mostly housed in the Human Resources department. That led me to grad school and a nearly 20 year career in HR where I discovered that what I loved most was empowering people to develop into their ideal careers.

Fast forward a couple of years after leaving my corner office to raise my young family, and Careers with Carrie was born. I spend most of my days helping people find jobs and I love every minute of it. For me, what I do is so much more than a job. It's something I picture myself doing for years to come because it allows me to watch people discover the confidence to pursue their own dreams. That young girl in the stacks would be proud.

When I'm not helping people find jobs they love, I'm either chasing around my 2 rambunctious boys, volunteering on our city's Diversity and Inclusion committee (because everyone deserves to be heard), trying a new recipe, or, most likely, cozying up with a good book.

I'd love to get to know you better, please reach out for your free consultation so we can make your career dreams a reality!
